80:20 artist agency is a new concept seeking to change the way artists engage with the art market. It is managed for the benefit of artists and it starts by providing representation, with revenue from sales set at an 80:20 percentage.

The idea for the agency started three decades ago and has expanded and evolved into a concept encompassing a holistic approach towards artists’ projects, exhibitions, and residencies.

The agency provides a new way forward: 

• It works with artists on projects it finances and produces; manages and promotes artists; sells and commissions work; and organises exhibitions, performances and events.
• The agency assists artists with promotion, production and support, manages artists’ commitments, facilitates national and international exhibitions, and engages with others on projects.
• It works for fair remuneration and artists can sell work themselves and not pay commissions unless they wish to do so. 
• Profit sharing is embedded into the agency’s structure and is based on commissions, donations, sponsorships, and voluntary work.

80:20 artist agency is an evolving concept and it provides a new way forward for artists by offering a unique approach in the way it deals with artists by placing their interest first. 

Expressions of Interest: This stage extends representation on an artist database for agency projects, curatorial research, and listing on a virtual reality gallery. Further stages are in development.
